Jeff Parker serves as Chairman of the Board of Urban Umbrella, bringing more than five decades of experience as a successful entrepreneur, chief executive, investor, and corporate director. An early investor and strategic adviser through Red Bear Angels, Jeff has played an important role in guiding the company's growth, strengthening its corporate governance, and supporting its long-term strategic development.

Jeff has an extensive track record of founding, building, and successfully selling businesses, particularly in financial services, technology, and information services. In 1980, he founded Technical Data Corporation, a pioneering provider of fixed-income analytics to institutional investors. In 1983, he founded First Call Corporation, which became a leading provider of Wall Street research and earnings estimates. Both companies were acquired by Thomson Corporation in 1986, and Jeff subsequently served as Chairman and CEO of Thomson Financial, helping establish it as a major global provider of financial information and analytics.

In 1997, Jeff co-founded CCBN.com (Corporate Communications Broadcast Network), which revolutionized how publicly traded companies communicated financial information to shareholders and the investment community. He served as Chairman and CEO until the company's acquisition by Thomson Corporation in 2004.

Beyond his operating experience, Jeff has been actively involved in venture capital and private equity investments, including as a founding partner of 38 Newbury Ventures and a venture partner at GrandBanks Capital. He has served as chairman or director of numerous private companies, providing strategic guidance on growth, financing, corporate governance, and business development.

Jeff was named Cornell University's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001 and received the Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Financial Services in 2003. He was also inducted into the Inside Market Data Hall of Fame in 2010 in recognition of his pioneering contributions to financial information technology.

A Trustee Emeritus and a Presidential Counsellor of Cornell University, Jeff founded the Parker Center for Investment Research at Cornell's Johnson Graduate School of Management. He holds three degrees from Cornell: a Bachelor of Engineering (1965), a Master of Engineering (1966), and an MBA (1970).
